I am a creative innovator who loves empowering people to achieve more than what they could dream is possible on their own. I began full time ministry with The Salvation Army in 1993, leading 7 churches as senior pastor in country, regional and suburban contexts including planting 2 churches.  I also lead a dynamic team in starting an inner city mission in Newcastle. From 2007 I was given denominational responsibilities both full time and while I was leading a congregation, working alongside churches helping to develop mission initiatives, increasing church health and increasing capacity of discipleship and leadership development including 3 years service in Taiwan.

 

A couple of years ago, the Holy Spirit used a situation in ministry to disturb my path in full - time ministry. I had severed as an officer in The Salvation Army for nearly 25 years with a passion developing leaders for frontline mission through coaching and resourcing. I had applied this in Church planting, local church leadership and as regional Mission & Resource Director in 3 different contexts in Australia and overseas. Since returning from overseas at the end of 2013, this passion was focused specifically around discipleship multiplication which I thought I would continue till retirement.

God had some other ideas and after an extended time of prayer, consultation and discernment Leanne and I left our ministry in the Salvation Army for a new phase of our calling. We didn't know the specifics at the time, but God has always been faithful when we have responded to His call. God never changes, and is faithful again in guiding and directing our path. We have found a new faith community at Oxley attending the evening service. Leanne is now a chaplain at Wesley Hospital in Brisbane and is very fulfilled and I have been developing Christian Coaching and Consulting Services to bring my passion of developing leaders for front-line mission through coaching and resourcing to the wider Christian community.

The focus on developing Disciple Making Cultures in church life has become a significant focus in my ministry engagement. Helping Churches shift from an inward focus to an outward focus. Helping believers discover or rediscover the joy of discipling someone on their journey of faith. Helping leaders identify who and develop the how in raising up a new generation of disciplers. This is my call and I offer it the the glory of God.
